The ball has been engineered to hold many of the machine’s key components, including the motor and cord rewind system. The motor and motor housing is suspended on vibration isolation mounts to transmit less noise and vibration.

The surface of the ball is smooth to reduce friction and prevent it from digging into the carpet pile.
